It is a shame how far this store has fallen since 2005. It used to be such a great place to shop. The service and knowledgeable staff were excellent. Now you are lucky to be able to find anyone in any department that has any knowledge about the department they work in. Management at this store has run all of the good staff off in favor of "no to low" knowledge workers who just fill a position for low wages.

Had some laminate floors laid, right on the contract “do not remove baseboard” use quarter round. So what do the floor people do? Remove the base board, I have bull nose corners and the looked really good before these people got hold of them. They did a terrible job of replacing them. Went to the store in Hollister with pictures, told the manager NOT to send the same people back to fix it , so what do they do, that’s right sent the same guy back and it’s still not fixed right. I guess I’ll have to go over the managers head to get this fixed. They even broke a section of base board and used caulk to fix it, real smart.I like going to Lowe’s, Im a veteran so I save a little bit of money. The savings are not worth having your home damaged by some inept workers. There’s a brand new Menards right up the street, I might just go there. Beware of Lowe’s contract workers. Very sorry.

I called several times to see if they had barn doors smaller than 30" Wide. Each time I called and asked to be forwarded to talk to someone about barn doors, the line went silent, which was strange because I could hear the store music playing in the background but no one was responding...even if they couldn't hear me on the line, you would think they would say something to check and see if someone was there instead of just remaining silent. I called the proservices number instead hoping it would be better but the customer service rep tried to transfer me to the same number I'd been calling. He didn't even give me a moment to tell him I had already tried that number so I hung up while I was on hold.

Eventually I got a hold of the customer service and made sure they could hear me. Seriously, if a customer tells you that they've tried calling three times without any luck, you should at least be friendly and even possibly apologize for the inconvenience (but what do I know, I've just worked in retail management for 6+ yrs).

They finally put me through to someone I believe was from Milworks, when I asked the woman on the line if they had barn doors under 30" her response was "nope". I waited a moment and realized that was the entirety of her answer. No "I'm sorry" or "Maybe try..." just "Nope". So I asked "Really? Nope?" and she repeated her ever so intelligent and understanding (cough sarcasm cough) "NOPE". I wish I got her name instead of angrily hanging up because I honestly feel that whoever this woman is deserves some serious customer service training AT THE VERY LEAST. I'm honestly dumbfounded that someone like that is capable of appropriating a job, if she was employed by me or anyone I have worked for she wouldn't last a day.

So if you find yourself asking "Should I go to Lowes"? Here's your answer: NOPE.
