After 25 years as a hair dresser, Frank DiSalvo gathered his family one Sunday morning and told them of his desire to open an Italian Restaurant. Having faith in his wife Antoinette's cooking, they took the opportunity to open his lifelong dream. With hard work and determination 25 years later we're still here, serving the best Italian food in South Florida. Sit back, relax and enjoy! Ewwww!

Tonight we went to Disalvo's and ate the restaurant. The staff was friendly, but the girl that was helping us must have been new. We orderd the Disalvo's Special pizza (substituted the hamburger for olives, and were charged for the olives even though they took off the hamburger, the waitress said that they couldn't swap them without a charge) and two tossed garden salads & garlic rolls. After the waitress brought out our salads (that came with the garlic rolls) she then asked us if we wanted them...we were definitely confused, it came with our salads didn't it? Well we received our "garlic rolls" and they were glazed in butter and sitting in a pool of oil (Ewwww #1). Our salads were ok, nothing to complain about. Then our pizza showed up. After a slice of pizza was removed we noticed a pool of oil sitting in the middle of the pizza pan, run off of the oil on the pizza (Ewwww #2). So after the second slice i couldn't take the sogginess of the so called crust and gave up. That's when we noticed the the window sill in the booth behind me, it had at least 20 small termites flapping there wings and crawling all over the rubber seal of the window (EWWWW!!!) and to top it off we found a little tiny bug crawling across our table and squished it with a napkin, that's when we lost our appetite and asked for our check. I have never felt the need to write up a review for a restaurant even if the service was bad or the food was lacking, but tonight was so disturbing in too many ways that I feel the need to express our experience.

Owner Disrespectful Behavior

My wife and I heard that the food was O.K., so we went there. Staff was courteous, we were seated and placed an order. The atmosphere was quiet and we expected a peaceful and enjoyable dinner time. However, at that time some raving lunatic started yelling and abusing the employees to no end! We have never witnessed such yelling anywhere before, except maybe at the football game. We have never witnessed such VERBAL ABUSE of employees ever and for NO REASON WHATSOEVER. This went on for some time, even after food was served. we could not enjoy our dinner listening to such a screaming tirade of insults and verbal abuse, that would make anybody sick to their stomach. We then found out that the abusive lunatic was THE OWNER of the business! We wrote him a nice note on the back of the menu and gave it to him on the way out, hoping that he reads it and understands that he will never see us again because HE ruined our dinner. Instead, he tore up the note and calmly said that it was his restaurant and that he knows how to run it and does not need to have anybody tell him how to do it. He totally missed the point: We left because of his verbal abuse of employees that was personal and over-the-line regardless of whether or not he had an excuse, and WE (the customers) could not stand it because we did not come there to put up with such behavior. We feel sorry for the employees that have little choice but to put up with such abuse. We also can't understand what would drive a person into such abusive lunatic behavior. We hope that employees can find the courage to seek employment elsewhere. We have no intention of ever setting a foot in there, or even placing a take out order there ever!
