PJ removed an existing deck for us and built a screened in deck with a roof with a sundeck and steps as well. The crew did a terrific job and made sure we were satisfied with the details.

Some contractors tried to remake our view on how we wanted the deck and tried to convince us to do a sunroom ( windows, like another room to our home)....PJ did not do this! He listened to what we wanted and how we thought it should look, along with giving us suggestions on things we weren't sure about, but never pressured us into a decision. He was very friendly and made sure the job was done right, and to code. He and his crew made our screened in/sundeck a dream of ours and we used it all summer and are so happy with their work!!! The deck is beautiful!!



PJ also did flooring for our family and removed/built decking and did a fantastic job there too!!

We would highly recommend PJ and his company for any job.

New Metal Roof



I found P.J. Selby Construction by an internet search for metal roofing companies in Southern Maryland. I called Mr. Selby and he came to my house the next morning and explained the roofing system, the cost, color options, and provided a written quotation that afternoon. Mr. Selby and his team of very hard working professionals did a wonderful job installing the new roof. They paid attention to the smallest detail, and when the job was done they removed all unused materials and cleaned the yard very well. I am very satisfied with P.J. Selby Construction and I will be happy to answer any questions about my experience.

Pj was very professional and punctual, which is why we decided to go with his company for our partial master bathroom remodel. He gave us a fair price and did a great job. There were some unexpected schedule delays but overall it was an excellent experience working with him. Our new tile surround shower, with a sunken in shelf and tile floor look amazing.

We wanted to redo our old wood deck with composite decking and vinyl rails. PJ came, brought samples, quoted me the price for everything. He and his team did a great job. He has a great eye for design and pointed out things we had not even thought of. He stayed to his budget and communicated any issues with me. Our new deck looks wonderful and makes our new pool look even better. We are already thinking of future projects for him.

We have asked P.J. for his help with several projects to repair or upgrade our house. He has never disapointed or not been able to handle our work. We just finished a beautiful kitchen remodeling projet, with quite a few changes along the way, and P.J. handled the changes professionally and still came in on budget. The finished product is OUTSTANDING and we were overly satistfied with the outcome. Many of our neighbors have stopped by and can't believe how much better our new kitchen looks. Whatever you may need, remodeling, roof repairs, or just general porch or deck work, CALL P.J., he will leave you smiling......

We have used PJ Selby for two significant renovation projects in our home: remodeling our guest bathroom, and replacing and substantially enlarging the second floor balcony on the back of the home. On both projects, PJ was economical, talented, responsive, and meticulous to detail in all respects. He was a pleasure to work with, and we have been extremely pleased with the excellent results of his work. His remodel of the bathroom transformed it from basic builder grade to a modestly priced but exquisite showpiece, with mosaic tile, pedestal washbasin, and a fashionable tilt mirror. The balcony project consisted of removing a 4'x8' cantilever balcony with wood deck and railing off one bedroom, and replacing it with a fully supported 8'x25' balcony serving two bedrooms, with vinyl deck and railings. In the course of the work, he replaced one window in the second bedroom with a glass door onto the balcony. This has proved completely weatherproof, through several major rainstorms and one hurricane. PJ has a great eye for design, and he is quick to suggest ways to increase value and save money. For example, we had originally requested a 6'x25' balcony, until he pointed out that an additional 2' of width would only increase the price by $500. Of course we followed his suggestion, and we so enjoy those two extra feet! I'm proud to note that he has placed pictures of both projects on this site (with our permission), so you can see for yourself the fine work he did on both jobs.

PJ replaced our old wooden deck railing with a gleaming white vinyl one….superb craftsmanship! What I really appreciate is that during the process PJ contacted me about a major beam which was warped and should be replaced. He gave me a quote and got the materials to replace it. It involved more work than he anticipated but he still honored the telephone quote he gave me  Besides being an excellent carpenter, PJ is prompt, follows through as promised, and thoroughly cleans up after their job. I am so pleased that I have him returning to replace two doors to a hallway cupboard. I highly recommend PJ!

We found Pj on Somd online to do our roof. We had gotten 5 estimates and his estimate came in quite a bit cheaper than the other 4. He also came right out to look at our roof and we had his written estimate the next day. He actually had to wait on us because it took weeks for the other roofers to get back to us with their estimates. We were impressed with his professionalism and the quality of his work. He and his workers did an amazing job removing our old roof and putting on a new one. We were so impressed with the quality of the work that instead of getting estimates for our kitchen remodel, we just asked Pj to do it. Once again, he did an amazing job with incredible craftmanship and professionalism. He gutted our kitchen and put in recessed lighting, solid wood cabinets, hardwood floors, granite countertops, new drywall and paint and put hardwood in our family room and did the whole project in less than a month. They came to our home ever day and started the day they said they would be there and finished the day they said they would be done. Their attention to detail was impressive, especially the crown molding and trim work, and our kitchen is absolutely beautiful. We got a premier kitchen at half the price. We would highly recommend Pj Construction to everyone we know.

P.J. did a great job on my bathroom remodel! Its now a showpiece in my home. We requested a Roman-style vertical motif and now my shower in beautifully tiled and resembles a Roman fountain. I would add that he did this work in a very small space and very efficiently as well. We would recommend him to anyone and will use him again in the future!
