James Hart School, located in Homewood, Ill., is a part of the Homewood School District. It prepares students for the world of high school and students demonstrate their traditions of achievement through academic performance, participation in extracurricular activities and community service. The school is a recipient of the Department of Education s Blue Ribbon award for Excellence in Education. Its departments offer the regular core subjects, as well as art and music. It provides a variety of extracurricular opportunities, that include the National Junior Honor Society, a chamber orchestra, choir, jazz band, chess, drama, literary arts, recycling, science and technology clubs and the student council. It also offers various sports, such as basketball, cheerleading, track and volleyball.
