A nice quaint restaurant with a western theme.

Today my Husband and I stopped in for lunch at the Twisted Q BBQ. We were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere which was warm and friendly. The restaurant had a 70's western theme which wasn't overwhelming or tacky, and the music was upbeat and familiar. I ordered a cheddar broccoli soup which wasn't the best because it tasted a bit too much like flour, and my husband had a beef vegetable soup which he said was deeeeelicious. We ordered a nacho bowl with ample ingredients which was as beautiful as it was tasty. The nacho bowl was huge so it could have been served as a stand alone meal, but we had it as an appetizer. For our main course I had a Chicago style polish with fresh cut fries, which was superb, and my husband had the hand pulled pork with a side of fries that he really enjoyed. He also a side of macaroni that we didn't like so well because it tasted bland to us. We had a side of the St. Louis dry rub ribs which was on point. After our meal we would have liked to try the desserts, which included a wide array of creatively decorated homademade fruit pies, brownies, cupcakes, and cookies, but we were stuffed!Overall great spot with a laid back feel, and decent food. The service was warm and friendly, and they have activities in the evenings like open mic and live bands that would make it a great place to bring a date, and not break the bank.
