My husband, two boys, and I like to try different campgrounds and over Thanksgiving weekend had one of the best weekends camping ever! Chassahowitzka Campground is beautiful, with trees covering everything and a short walk down to the boat dock where you can fish off the large dock or rent a canoe for $15 and paddle down the river seeing the natural springs and plenty of fish and wild life (as well as a couple of rope swings my boys had to try out). It is also spacious with plenty of room in most campsites (we only stayed in the primitive tent section but there is a full hook up RV side as well) The people that work there are more than pleasant and will talk with you about the area, what to do or whatever you want, very friendly. It is also very family friendly with a rec hall for meals and board games/puzzles or bad mitton court and outside games as well. My boys had so much fun we will definitely be back. The only drawback I can see is there is no electricity at the sites (which we were unaware of until we got there but my husband bought an inverter for a car battery and we were able to keep cameras, phones, and the boys walkie talkies charged up all week, problem easily solved. We highly recommend this campground!
