Conservation Council for Hawai'i (CCH ) is one of Hawai'i's oldest and most effective wildlife organizations. Since 1950, we have been on the forefront of the environmental movement in Hawai'i and a leader in shaping some of the most important environmental policies and programs in the Islands. We have a long track record of scientific credibility, successful grassroots campaigns, and effective involvement in environmental policy and decision-making. Time and again, we have built the coalitions that win, working in partnership with the National Wildlife Federation, other organizations, government agencies, and local communities, while drawing on the collective knowledge and expertise of our staff and board, and the grassroots support of our members. Our 5, 500 members and supporters include scientists, Native Hawaiian practitioners, farmers, fishers, hunters, educators, students, artists, photographers, business owners, community leaders, and elected officials. We are united by our aloha for wildlife and commitment to protecting the Hawaiian environment for the benefit of the people, the culture, and the economy.CCH is funded by membership dues and contributions, and grants and donations for special projects and capacity-building. CCH is a 501 (c ) (3 ) non-profit grassroots organization based in Honolulu, Hawai'i and is solely responsible for its own governance, program, and fundraising.
