In december me and my husband had to take our beloved pet in to find out why he was in such pain... dr nelson at that time was amazing we even recieved a thinking of you card when we had to put our dog down... now months later I schedule our other dog to be fixed.. the receptionist misinformed me of the cost gave me an entirely wrong number... then just as misfortune would be unexpectdly I have to leave town.. so I called the day before the appt to see if it was ok to have my mother bring him in and they said that was fine... they then gave my mother a hard time when I wasnt there... so the lady I talked to must not have marked my dogs chart letting them know the situation... then im still not home and my mo calls me to tell me the bill is 120$ more than what I was quoted.. so now im dealing with this issue and the one that took me out of town.. so I called to see what was going on and the lady told me id have to speak to the vet.. so dr nelson called me today and immediately started in on me saying that I dont care for my pet because they do a better job than anyone else in the area and their prices reflect that.. claims that his receptionist gave me the correct quote and I had my numbers wrong (I wrote everything down) and that I should please go somewhere else next time because they dont service people who d okmt care enough for their animals...
I was so shocked... this is the same doctor that listened to me cry on the phone when we got the news from our other dog... this is the doctor that made jokes with my 3 year old in the office... I now realize that this doctor doesnt remember me or the loss that my family just had... yet he felt it was ok to accuse someone who is a good pet mommy of being uncaring... to me that means he doesnt care about my pets enough to have me bring them to him anymore.. before this incident I never thought he was pushing for profit.. now I dont know what to think.. although I will say it was unnecessary for him to tell me to not bring my pets back if I didnt care to pay for quality because I wont be back because he doesnt care enough to remember the pet and the owner.

Crystal Ridge kennel is ran by a sex offender, stop refering it pls... that is not right.............

Platte lake veterinary clinic is the best! I can not recommend them enough. They are very caring, compassionate and understanding. I would recommend them to anyone who has a four legged family member to care for. Dr. Whitney, and now Dr. Nelson, have been caring for our two dogs for going on 10 years now. I wouldn't go anywhere else for the world even though, I live in interlochen and there are many places closer. They are more than worth a little drive!

I love this vet. Dr. Nelson treats me and all my animals with care and consideration. He always has time for my questions and seems very happy to share knowledge with a fellow animal lover. He has gone out of his way on several occasions to copy pages from books or articles that are pertinent to my animals' cases so I can educate myself on current studies as well. The staff are also very friendly and efficient. Highly recommended!

We have been with this Dr. for the past 5 yrs. They have been sensational. We had 2 litters of puppies that the doctor and staff were very helpful. I have recommended this service to all our friends.
