If the business is not a licensed dealer through the DMV, there are no regulations for as-is sales. NH is a buyer beware state. Just FYI.

I would not blame the person selling the vehicle, it is a USED car, who knows what could go wrong. THEY SHOULD BLAME THE GARAGE THAT DID THE INSPECTION AFTER THE PURCHASE...

Do not EVER buy a car from this place, My son's girlfriend just bought a 2001 Ford Escape, had it two weeks and the brakes went on her while she was driving. She is 18 years old, how can they sell an UNSAFE car like that to a young girl. She would have been killed had this happened on a highway. Of course they knew the brakes were bad since they SUPPOSEDLY went through the whole car and told her nothing was wrong, she just needed new tires. She should not have even had to pay for those. They took advantage of a young girl put her life at risk by selling her an unsafe car. My son also drives this car and it could have been him at the wheel and two people could of been killed. I am not done yet, this company will be reported to the better business bureau. You just can't trust this place . They probably took advantage of her because she is a young girl and thats what salesman do, I am having the car looked completly over by a technician I CAN TRUST because I do not trust the car and I don't think she or anyone should be driving this. I will go onto other websites to post my complaints about your business ethics. Evidently you do not have any!!

I also just found out this is against the law, selling an unsafe car without giving the buyer a list of what is unsafe about the car and telling them in a note it will not pass inspection. This was not done. This is NH law -New Hampshire's Unsafe Vehicle Act (RSA 358 F) Read IT An unsafe car includes cars with bad brakes.

Before a dealer can sell an unsafe used car, the dealer must:

Disclose that the car will not pass the state safety inspection; and

Offer the buyer the opportunity to have the car inspected for safety (the dealer may charge a "reasonable" amount for the inspection).

If the consumer still wants to buy the car, knowing it is considered "unsafe," the dealer may sell the car but must list the safety defects for the buyer along with a notice stating:

This motor vehicle will not pass a New Hampshire inspection and is unsafe for operation. The following defects must be corrected before an inspection sticker can be issued.

Do you want to rememedy this mistake with the seller or must she proceed to the BBB?

My son's girlfriend bought a car from this place and less than 2 weeks later the brakes let go while driving it. It was a mistake going there.
