Purchased a Berkel slicer from Webstaurant for my small deli. The slicer started developing issues with the on/off switch. I contacted both Webstaurant and Berkel headquarters in Hartford ,CT. who directed me to Hobart in Hookset,NH as the dealership who was responsible for repair service. I made 3 phone calls over 7 weeks to try to schedule a service call. I was repeatedly told they were busy and would get to me when they could. The slicer's on/off switch deteriorated to the point that I had to hold the on/off button while attempting to use the slicer, not an easy or safe feat. I finally had someone who was not a trained technician fix the issue. The warranty is now in question as someone besides a trained technician performed the work. However, a warranty does no one any good when the service provider doesn't honor it in a timely manner. I called this morning to cancel the service appointment and was told," You were the technician's first call this morning" Sure I was.
