Southern Nuclear Operating Company is a subsidiary of Southern Company. It is a licensed operator of three nuclear power plants: the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant, the Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant and the Alvin W. Vogtle Electric Generating Plant. These plants provide more than 20 percent of the electricity used in Alabama and Georgia.
