Just don't move here unless it's to buy my house so I can get away from these crooks. The cost of water and sewage in this city is INSANITY. The Mayor (Baker) doesn't care because the guy that runs public works is his boyfriend. They opted not to be monitored by the State. The fact someone can even DO this is stupid. They don't read meters, they charge what they please, and you can pay it or screw off. Then when we have e coli in our water, we just happen upon that news on Facebook. I have a 9 month old and they should pray she doesn't get ill because of their lack of proper notification. I hate this place, and pray Latimer beats Baker so we can have someone who GIVES a crap- or at least pretends to.

If you can avoid moving to or owning property in Horn Lake do so. The horn lake utility office/office employees have quite possibly the worst attitudes and demeanor of anyone I have ever had to do business with. If this were a private business they would be out of business. They enjoy watching you jump through hoops to do normal business. The best part is they will not under any circumstances help you through a process. They will tell you the first step and confirm that that will fix your problem, then they cut your water off. When you go up there they will tell you that you forgot to do step 2, so then you do that and they confirm that you are good to go. Then they cut your water off. When you go up there they tell you that you neglected to do step 3. They refuse to do any business over the phone and stick with poorly copied forms of which you must be physically present to fill out. They can not figure out how to call and let you know there is a problem. I doubt many people that work there have all of the chromosomes that they are supposed to have.
