Hot Springs originated from the thermal waters that flow into the historic downtown district of the city. Hot Springs city manages the street division of the public works operation department. Based in Hot Springs, Ark., Hot Springs Street Division builds and maintains streets and drainage systems. The division maintains street right of ways and other public property. It provides emergency services during inclement weather and supports the police and fire departments in emergencies. It also provides parking lots and maintenance services.
