Horrible!

I wish I stuck with TXU and not switched to these people. Their customer service reps were very polite but the only way I could get my issues handled was when I talked to a manager. My family and I are active military and were stationed in TX. A door sales rep convinced us to switch from TXU saying we could save money with them. I informed the rep that we were leaving in a few months and she assured me that was fine and there was would be no early cancellation fee for active duty members. After receiving orders to relocate I contacted them about a month in advance to cancel service. I was told by the rep that would be fine and I advised her we don't have an address to our new home because we did not have one at the time and asked if a change of address through the post office would be sufficient, she said yes. Well we moved and forwarded our mail and we received our final bill to our new home. They charged us a $300 early cancelation fee saying we did not provide a forwarding address, even though the rep said forwarding our mail from the postal service and we got the final bill at our NEW ADDRESS! I paid the remaining balance owed but not the cancelation fee. It took almost two months and several new reasons beyond the forwarding address excuse until I spoke with a supervisor that said my account didn't say we were active duty. It took two months, a dozen phone calls, being hung up on repeatedly, (even though I was being polite and never once yelled or was rude) and we were also getting calls from a 3rd party collection agency and a collection account on my credit score. All because the inept sales lady and billing didn't check one stupid box in their records that said this person is active military. In the end we had the fee reversed after a long drawn out BS battle with these people. My advice would be never ever do business with this company, especially if you're active duty military.

I wouldn't recommend getting C...

I wouldn't recommend getting CPL as your electricity provider. They don't care about their customers. Their electricity goes out at least 6 times a year, sometimes for 10 hour straight, just like today. Oh there's a hurricane coming? One that's going to miss the city completely and bring about 10 mph wind? Here, have 3 days without electricity. They have these new RF meters they installed that reports back usage/diagnostics wireless like when the electricity goes out. Looks like it doesn't do it any good. What's the point of having it if your electricity goes out, while your front neighbors with a different electricity company still have theirs on? Brownsville, Texas.
