I purchased a package deal to this spa including several days of treatment (one day for hair, one for massage, one for facial, etc). When I booked the appointment for my facial, I upgraded my service and was told it would be a $25 additional fee-- okay, reasonable. The day of my appointment comes, and I go in to the spa.



Atmosphere is so-so (harsh lighting, poorly painted walls); receptionist receives me with a rude look and barely grunts a response when I tell her I have an appointment. The facialist greets me (she was nicer and more professional), guides me to my room, and starts the facial. Treatment itself was pretty good. I've had better-- the steam wasn't scented, and the facialist left the room twice for about 10 minutes each time without saying a word-- but all in all, it was a fairly relaxing experience.



When I went back to reception to pay my bill, I was informed that my fee would be a full $30 higher than expected. I asked to see a break-down of my charges, and was rudely informed that I would be charged gratuity twice because I received two services at the same time. Shocked, I asked what two services I was supposed to have received. The receptionist, who I believe is also one of the owners, told me (again, in a very rude and condescending tone), that I had received an hour-long facial and a facial upgrade, and that these were two entirely separate services requiring separate gratuities. Now, the treatment I received was an hour-long facial (minus the twenty minutes the facialist inexplicably disappeared), and the upgrade I received was to include some extra serums and creams. How this warrants a DOUBLE gratuity is entirely beyond me. Not wanting to argue with this ridiculous woman, I paid the bill and left. It may be noted that an elderly woman next to me at the counter was watching this whole scene aghast, and even commented that the bill made no sense and seemed very steep.



BOTTOM LINE:

Customer Service: Atrocious. 0 stars.

Facial: Okay. 2 stars.

Value: Atrocious. 0 stars.



Do not go to this spa. It is a waste of time and money. Houston has much, much better to offer.
