I dropped off my daughter's formal dress (2) days ago to be cleaned. When I arrived today, they could not locate the dress initially. It is a very bright, yellow-green dress and I saw it hanging pants-style behind another garmet and pointed it out. The employee picked it up and went to the office where she consulted with "Al" who represented himself as the owner.



Al comes out and says there is an issue with cleaning the dress, as it has faux jewelry sewn into it. I explained that I had pointed this out when I dropped it off and that the tag inside the dress says to "spot clean" only. I showed him the tag. Then, he mentions a snag on the front of the dress.



A snag?!?! This dress did NOT have a snag when I dropped it off (2) days ago! I know this because it was on a hanger after my daughter wore it and I also inspected it at the counter when I dropped it off to be cleaned. I even looked over the faux jewelry on the dress and specifically asked the employee if it would be a problem. She had said it would not be.



The employee that I dropped the dress off with happened to be present and said she noticed the snag after I left. Okay, then why didn't someone CALL me?!?! Why am I being told about it when I arrive to pick it up?



It is my belief that the employee folded the dress over itself prior to tagging it and the fabric caught on the faux jewelry.



Al stood by the idea that the snag was there when I dropped it off. He then offered to "fix" it. Basically, he pulled the snagged thread through the back of the dress and tied a knot. Now, there is a pull line in the dress that has a hole in the center of it. He then went on to tell me that the dress could not be spot cleaned and would need to be hand-washed. At this point, I was so angry that I just took the dress and left letting him know that I was not happy.
