My 11 year old son has been training at Elite MMA since he was 5 years old and I cannot recommend it highly enough. He has grown so much in his time there. In addition to the physical skills that he has gained, he has also become more confident, disciplined and respectful. He has made lasting friendships and considers his classmates and coaches to be a second family. He takes a lot of pride in his training and looks forward to his twice weekly classes. As a mom of two children, I have invested quite a bit of time and money in extracurricular activities over the years and I would have to say that our time at Elite MMA has been the best time and money spent.

I’ve been training Bjj at Elite since early 2011 (mostly the westheimer and greenway locations) and I can’t recommend the school enough. The coaches and training partners are world class and very supportive while still challenging you to push your limits. If you’re interested in learning the art this is a great place to do it.

I’ve tried a few other places over the years and these are the reasons I stay at Elite:

-the flexibility of the schedule. This might not seem like a big deal but it’s one of the most important factors when choosing a school. A school could have the best coaches and training partners but if you can’t make the classes then it doesn’t matter. My schedule is very irregular but that’s no problem at Elite, they have early am classes, lunch classes, and evening classes.

-the diversity of world class training partners and coaches. At Elite there are so many high level black and brown belts that you get exposed to so many different approaches to the art.

-the overall vibe is relaxed and community oriented, especially the approach to teaching. When I first started there were several blue and purple belts that really helped me out and gave me a lot of their time. There is more of an “everybody teaches everybody” kind of vibe. Some schools are a little more traditional and rigid with the hierarchy.

-the relationships I’ve formed there with my training partners over the years have greatly enriched my life. Practicing the intense art of Bjj with people from so many different walks of life has made me a much better person and given me a bigger sense of community.

-the positive changes that the art and the school have helped me achieve. When I started I was 280 pounds, out of shape, and working an unsatisfying job. A year into training I had lost 50 pounds, ran a half marathon, and had the confidence to change my career. Thanks in huge part to practicing Bjj at Elite.

Elite is a wonderful place to train. You will improve your jiu jitsu, kickboxing, and overall fitness. The coaches and students are great people, and they work hard and have a great time.
