Jason K. Au, MD, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained pediatric urologist providing care for patients up to 18 years old. He treats all pediatric urologic conditions, including congenital and acquired genitourinary abnormalities. His clinical interests include hypospadias, ureteropelvic junction obstruction, vesicoureteral reflux, kidney trauma, and neurogenic bladder. Au is trained in the latest technology for minimally invasive surgeries, including robotic surgery and laparoendoscopic single-site surgery (LESS), which have faster recovery times, less pain, and smaller scars. Because every patient is unique, Au uses a team approach for each child’s care, working with their pediatrician and parents to create an individualized treatment plan. He uses a compassionate, evidence-based approach to care and walks his patients through each step, from the initial consultation through their final visit. Au is an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatric Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. He’s a member of many national societies, including the American Urological Association, the Society of Pediatric Urology, the Society of Fetal Urology, and the Endourological Society. He has authored numerous scientific papers, and his research has been recognized nationally and internationally. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, including his two sons, photography, the outdoors, attending church, and playing basketball.
