Provided by YP.comI was rear ended. After the other person’s insurance agreed to reimburse me, I looked for a car. I purchased my car at John Eagle Acura in Katy, because they had good online reviews and their salesperson, Ty Thompson, seemed honest. I purchased my car on 1/17.
After I took the car home, my cousin pointed out that there was a deep crack on the front, passenger side window. I told her that when I test drove the car, it was very dirty and could not see it.
Update:
- Received Google response from Asst. General Manager (Valerian) via Google.
- Made appointment on 2/8, because the car had squeaks coming from the engine. However, when I took it in, the bumps stopped.
- Valerian called me on 2/13. He said to visit with him or Jesus Montes, the Service Manager. Jesus inspected the car and said that the scratch was was likely there before I purchased the car. However, he said that since the car was not new, there was little he could do.
- Today, 2/15, I was driving to work and I noticed that the squeaking noises from my engine on 2/8 had gotten worse. They told me that they tightened the dashboard screws and something near the trunk.
- On 3/27, there were sounds coming from the driver side dash. It sounded like pebbles swishing.
- On 3/29, they asked me to leave my car there.
- On 4/6, they called me to tell me that my car was "fixed."
I bought the car only 2-3 months, I already had 4 issues with it.
Lesson: Do not buy a car from John Eagle Acura – unless it has a manufacturer’s warranty still on it and you have tons of sick days, because you’ll have to take off of work to have your car repaired within the first month of owning it. I got lucky that my car has a manufacturer’s warranty and I own my own business.
All this being said, I want to say thanks to Scott Sheley, a Service Consultant and Sam, the lead mechanic, since they have been helping me with all of the problems at this dealership.
I regret my decision to purchase my car here.

Provided by YP.comI was ready to pay sticker and had my own financing, Here's why the deal didn't get done.
The salesman had an extra $400 of addons. My fave was $280 for a replacement key (Not an extra key) in case you lose one in the future.
All 4 were FINALLY taken off. Then the salesman wanted me to fill out a Credit Loan Application. I had my own financing and he said it was just to get info for the title.
I asked why not just use my license, He said sometimes people move and they have an old address. Well, why didn't you just ask me if my license was current?
I started to leave only to be chased by the finance guy. I asked him why they needed my social. He said they weren't going to pull my credit they were just going to look at it which contradicted the salesman.
Then he says he needs it to compare to a list of terrorists. Wow! Finally the "Finance Director" admitted you don't need the social.
The underhanded, deceptive tactics from all I dealt with speaks to how shady they are.

Provided by YP.comI recently purchased a used car from John Eagle Acura, Houston TX and my sales rep was TJ Morin. I rate the dealership & especially Mr. Morin 6 out of 5 STARS, yes I know, but my experience really was that exceptional. Over my lifetime I have purchased at least 25 vehicles, new & used, for myself and family, but not only was this my first over the internet (I live in Pensacola Florida which is over 500 miles from Houston Texas), but also the first time that a full week later, I am 100% completely satisfied with the car, deal, dealership and especially the salesperson, no second thoughts at all – “WOW”.
The first thing I asked when I called the dealership, about the car I had found on AutoTrader.com, and was transferred to Mr. Morin was; “The car looks good, but what are you not showing by the camera angles? Mr. Morin informed me that the car I was interested in was listed very recently and he had not yet had an opportunity to test drive the car & he would give me a call back. Within 60 minutes, Mr. Morin called me back and said that he had just driven the car himself and informed me of his impressions, both positive and negative (99% of which were clearly visible in the photos) and offered, I did not need to ask, to remedy all but one small item. This one item which was not highlighted in the online photos but was disclosed to me by Mr. Morin was that the “SRS” light was on and only a Mercedes-Benz shop could accurately determine the exact reason, which my local Mercedes shop confirmed. Just in case you are interested, the “BabySmart Airbag Deactivation System” which automatically deactivates the passenger side front air bag when a “BabySmart” Child Seat is installed is malfunctioning. Since I am in my sixties, I do not find this to be a major problem!
I communicated with Mr. Morin multiple times viva email & phone and always received a prompt response and completely accurate information (Mr. Morin always answered his cell phone and if I called the dealership for him I was transferred to his cell phone). I received a call from Mr. Morin almost exactly half way home just to make sure I had not experienced any problems and once home, found an email from him asking that I please reply so he would know that I was home safe!
My only regret is that due to the 500 miles, separating Pensacola, FL from Houston, TX, I cannot personally send many of my friends to TJ Morin and John Eagle Acura, but if you are considering purchasing a vehicle online and find one on their website, I believe you will find them as honest & above-board as I have. I can honestly say this has been my best vehicle purchasing experience ever!

Provided by YP.comOkay, so all of these positive reviews have to be made by one f those snakes from that dealership.
First of all, the service is terrible. You think you are buying you're car at an Acura dealership and that you got it good but NO, they don't care about you if you aren't buying a brand new car.
Basically I bought a 2005 Acura TL valued at 13-14k for only 9k. It was a pretty car with a bit of cosmetic damage especially on the leather but besides that (damage wasn't that bad) it seemed like an awesome deal. Either way, my husband and I were still a little weary so we asked them so many times why the price was so low and if everything was ok with the car. We were reassured by three different people that absolutely nothing was wrong with this car besides the cosmetic damage.
We buy the car lie idiots and the same day the alternator messes up. We go back and my husband had to argue with them until they agreed to pay the 500 dollars to fix the problem since we just bought the car.
After the first day that it rained, I almost crashed and possibly died because the windshield wiper was messed up. Not only that but the power steering was messed up and in total the car needed over 3k in repairs. I was livid.
We went to the dealer to complain as we only had this car two weeks and it was falling apart. Everyone there treated us like crap especially the sales manager who couldn't even stand up straight and speak respectfully. He then threw the fact that they fixed the alternator in our face even though ey wanted to charge us for it if it wasn't for my husband arguing with them. They wouldn't help us out with the cost of repairs and wouldn't let us return the vehicle.
I called the manager three or four times and eventually he said all he could do was trade in this car for another of equal or greater value.
I got a 2007 Honda accord from them, two weeks later it turns out some of the parts were recalled awhile ago from Honda, power steering is messed up, breaks suck, windshield wipers suck, etc. I wasted money on a more pricey car and a warranty and they lied to me again and told me this car was perfect and I basically got another lemon.
Neither car was over miles either....and I've been calling the dealership to no avail.
Do not go to this place if you value your money.

Provided by YP.comExcellent service! Hands down the best Acura dealer and service department in Houston. Jesus Montes always gets everything taken care of without me having to worry or stress. Each service trip I have gotten has been taken care of in a professional and timely matter. I would recommend John Eagle Service to those with and without Acuras.

Provided by YP.comThe internet sale manager, Thom Chau, was easy to deal with. Very straight forward guy, I tell him what I want, he'll let me know if he can do it or not. He doesn't bombard you with email or call trying to push for a sale.

Provided by YP.comI went to Carmax and Planet Ford, and neither could get me financed. Luis Garcia got me a car with only $1500 down. Good dealership and excellent salesman

Provided by YP.comI had a good experience here with John Eagle; I didn't feel lots of pressure and a time constraint. I went in on Thursday without making a purchase. I went back a week and a half later and did end up with a purchase of an Acura TL. I am very happy about it and offered no complaints!!!

Provided by YP.comKnowledgeable, friendly, and fast. I went to get an Acura Integra (year 2000) checked out twice. The staff was very honest and made it clear what needed to be fixed and what didn't. Had a timing belt replaced that they finished sooner than expected. Very upfront about the costs as well. The second time I went in I was in a bit of a rush but they were still able to accommodate me. All in all these guys are top notch.
