Worst buying experience ever:

Here is what the salesman won’t tell you at the time of the sale; the balance of an order must be paid in advance before they will schedule delivery. I paid 50% in advance waiting ~8 weeks for delivery expecting that they would deliver, setup and I could inspect for any problems before paying the final balance as was promised verbally.
I received a call from the salesman saying the chairs had arrived, that was immediately followed by a call from the manager indicating that full payment was due before delivery could be scheduled the next week. I refused to pay until I could inspect the merchandise. For the next several days, I tried to call and speak to the salesman but was always told he was out, and I never received a call back from the manager as promised multiple times.
I finally did get a call back from the manager after I filed a formal complaint at La-Z-Boy corporate (1-734-242-1444). I did confirm that La-Z-boy Corporation does in fact support the pay balance in full before even getting to see what you are buying.
I did some internet research after having these problems and found many complaints that were exactly like mine. I also found that many people were suggesting out-right fraud; that is, the service side is deliberately terrible because they can make more profit from the 25% restocking fee that is on the back side of the sales agreement. Some complaints suggested that orders were never even sent, and the GOAL of service was to make customers angry enough to cancel the order because the re-stock fee was better profit than the sale.

TAKE YOUR BUSINESS SOMEWHERE ELSE!!

Multiple deliveries of the wrong color furniture (white vs tan). Abusive and threatening customer service representative. Lying salesman.

We've been going around and around with these people for almost 7 months now.

The worst part of the entire experience is in dealing with a non-responsive and extremely abusive "customer service" representative. She has failed to return numerous messages and been very argumentative to the point of calling my wife words not allowed in these reviews.

Now after 7 months of messing around with this entirely unprofessional and inept company we're going to purchase replacement furniture from a major furniture store right across the freeway from Lazy Boy where we've done business with for years who we should have stayed with and buying new furniture.

Do not do business with Lazy Boy. Take your business across the freeway to the major and well known furniture store.
