Provided by YP.comBe very careful with the service. Took my car in to get wheels rotated, oil changed. It was a Saturday, very busy and was told it would take an hour and a half. Waited...and waited...I saw my car finally being pulled in about an hour later. Doors were open in the bay and the day kind of nice, so as I walked around the large parking lot I watched my service. However, I didn't have my eyes on them the whole time, now I wish I did.
Noticed that after I'd wandered around the building and back in view after about 5-8 min., the left two tires were off and vehicle was on the hoist. As I was looking the mechanic moved the oil catch device under the car and started draining the oil. Next time back the mechanic was leaving and took five empty qt. containers to the outside waste disposal unit.
The same two left tires were on the ground. As I watched he took them off the ground and put them on the wheels under which they had been sitting. Took it off the hoist and moved it to another part of the bay to check alignment.
When I paid I was told the alignment was off and it'd take a minimum of $75 to fix it. I decided to take it to the dealership since it was an all wheel drive.
I was late for work, since it was now 2 hr and 15 min after bringing it in. I jumped in the car and drove out of the parking lot to get on the freeway. I noticed the low air light was lit on the dash. Thought about it a little bit but the light didn't go off after a couple of minutes, pulled over and called the shop.
Talked to a guy and told him of my problem with the light, and asked if they had checked the air in all the tires. He said yes, they did. I asked why was the light lit, and he said it's normal, and the light would go off, 'within about 20 miles.'
Drove to work, light was still on 30+ miles later. After work, I checked the air in my tires, two were normal, one was 25 psi, and one was 28 psi. Filled them up and light went off after driving 20 feet.
While stopped I looked at my tires that had supposedly been rotated. I had three tires that were the same make, having bought 4 about 7 months ago. I had a tire failure in one just six weeks ago and had to replace one of the tires with one that had a slightly different tread pattern. I noticed the odd tire was in the same spot on my vehicle as it was when I brought it in...so, THEY DIDN'T ROTATE THE TIRES, even though they were supposed to, and was told they did.
I know that when my oil is changed it takes 5.7 quarts of oil to fill it up, but I remember seeing only 5 empty containers the mechanic had thrown away. I checked my oil, it was low (not a full quart), so I had to buy a quart of Valvoline synthetic (what they'd put in), and put in about a half quart, bringing it up to the fill line.
So, here's my analysis: The worker who did the work was either having a bad day or was habitually lazy and the shop management lets him get away with it. They didn't fill up my engine with oil, they didn't check my tires, they didn't rotate my tires...and this is supposed to be a tire shop? Pleasssee!!! Low tires can easily fail at highway speed, and running low on oil causes greater engine wear.
They asked me to make out the survey online, which i did, and said all this to them. It has been a week and there's not been one word back from NTB.
My advice is to stay away from NTB Tire and Battery.
