Its board general counsel's responsibility is to provide legal opinions, advice and counsel related to appeals, alternative dispute resolution, clemency, complaints, legislation, litigation, parole guidelines and rules to board. The board is responsible to track and notify new and updated legislation that affects the board. Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles receives reviews, verifies and redacts arrest records of a court order granting statutory right of an individual who is arrested and charges are dismissed.
