Dr. Karamanian (1) was unflinchingly honest in all of our interactions. If he said "most likely," I could bank on it. And, I presume, if he didn't think he could have helped me (and he did!), he would have been equally direct--without being painfully blunt.

2) He was always compassionate as to my feelings, fears, concerns, etc.

3) He is a uniquely gifted physician who definitely does not present as God's gift to the world. If you cite a contrary opinion, another treatment option or provider, he does not appear to have a defensive bone in his body. I happened to witness the man unfairly attacked by a competitor in a heavy-handed marketing guise, and his response was, "That really makes me mad," in the same conversational tone, seated upright at his desk, as he resumed our conversation.

4) Finally, I don't think I have ever interacted with a professional who was more passionate about his work, about being the best he can be, and about the quality of life of his clients. I have no doubt that I got the best medical care that was to be had from Dr. K, just as I'm equally certain that his next patient got just a little bit better care. I do not ever envision him ever running a medical mill or a half-dozen clinics. He's much more interested in the work than in the business.

The number of walking wounded PCa survivors with which the current standard of care has left us is a disgrace on the modern medical profession, and my family and I are so grateful to Dr. Karamanian for doing something about it.
