Disclaimer: Over the years the owner and I have become good friends. The reason for that is probably because we are both booklovers and appreciate collectible books.

People who come in looking for flea-market pricing are bound to be disappointed. The owner typically buys books that are high-quality, highly-regarded, hard-to-find, or collectible. Books are priced on a per-book basis; Even a trade paperback that is still in print may be priced differently if it is a first edition, has an author's signature, and is in good condition. The owner buys books, but typically tells people he is mostly interested in whole private libraries, and maybe the books that the seller doesn't really want to sell because of their continued interest. (Books by well-known authors and literary figures such as Faulkner, Pinchon, Dickens, Hemingway, Asimov, and others of similar renown are typical.) These books don't stay long in the store because they are so popular. He has a very good collection of Texana and other History books that can't be found in other places.

I rate his selection as five stars because he carries a variety of books that are hard to find anyplace else. I rate his service as five stars because he has an encyclopedic knowledge of books and I never fail to learn something new when I buy a book there.

The store owner/curmudgeon at the front desk was the rudest person I have ever encountered!!!! Will never go here again and will spread the word, too!!!!!!
