I went here due to an injury due to a dog. I didn't need stitches, only got shot in the prescription. I was there for less than an hour. I got 2 separate bills. One for a clinic the and one fourth physician fee each $1750. That did not include the shot which was $650. My insurance paid about half, but when paid the rest because they said it was a duplicate charge and basically it was invalid due to the ups certainty of the cost. This is a complete racket. They are overcharging to a ridiculous extent and taking advantage of people who are sick or hurt. I have never in my life heard of any hospital or clinic charging both of physician fee in the clinic fee of that absorbent amount. Don't go here unless you want to be broke!

This place is great. I waited at Methodist for 4 hours last Friday night in pain and no one would pay attention to me. I finally left and I arrived and I was taken into a room immediately.

The doctor and nurse were in at the same time, took my vital signs, drew blood, gave me an IV, and IV medication, did X-rays, fixed my bone and soon, I was feeling much better. They called the specialist and set me up with a follow up appointment.

The place was very busy at the time but the nurse and doctor checked on me frequently.

I read all the previous reviews and REALLY people, this is a First Class Emergency Center. Yes, they can do the same as the hospital and it is comfortable, convenient with knowledgeable staff. If you have a sore throat, you can come here but don't expect to pay like a regular doctor's office. It is not a doctor's office. It is an emergency room!

I have no complaint about the quality of the medical treatment and was impressed by the fact that there was no wait. Anyone who goes to this emergency center should be aware of the cost even for minor treatment. My ailment was a bite by a pet that required limited medical treatment taking approx. 15 mins in total. Initial cost was $450 but I was subsequently billed another $1000 in the form of a "facility fee". While the initial and subsequent costs are erregious on their own for a brief consultation with doctor, a tetanus vaccine and a antibiotics prescription, the fact that the staff misled me with respect to the total cost makes matters much worse. Upon completion of the treatment, I was told that the total cost was $450, however, subsequently receivded a bill for an additional $1000. I should note that my insurance does not believe that this specific emergency center has the right to charge a facility fee and has not approved the invoice for $1000. I would not recommend that anyone get treatment from River Oaks Emergency Center.
