You can't go wrong here. I have eaten here for about 10 years and never been disappointed by the food. Service is sometimes slow in coming but worth the wait. And the wait staff is always friendly.

Los Vega is a great family Mexican restaurant. The service is quick and friendly and the smiles are genuine. Most dinners are between $6.50-$10.00, so it is very affordable. Drink prices are low. Some dishes are really flavorful, others are pretty good. The Nachos Supreme are very good, well made with a wonderful flavor. Its a good start to a meal. I ordered the Fajitas Diablas. Now THAT is an excellent Mexican dinner. The balance of peppers, steak, chicken, shrimp with mushrooms and grilled onions was outstanding. My wife tried their tamales. 1) Their tamales are above average, tender and meaty but need more spice. 2) HELLO! Mexican Restaurant... should have more than one Tamale dish on the menu! My kids tried the cheese enchilladas, again above average but not special. The house salsa with chips were pretty good. Salsa is obviously made fresh in the kitchen, but it needs something. Its ok, but not really cravable. I want chunks of onion, tomato, green pepper and fresh cilantro. The food is served fresh and hot. Los Vega has some excellent dishes and a good local reputation for well made food. Just be choosy and try one of their Chef Specials, not the ordinary thing. Restaurant crew sings a Mexican version of Happy Birthday to a strummed guitar. The Happy Birthday song has only 5 chords, but can be played pretty well with just 3. Learning those would help. The out-of-tune strumming and off-key singing were fun to watch for novelty... but it wouldn't hurt to learn the song properly too. I give the restaurant three stars. Improve the house salsa and serve more than one tamale dish (spicier)... and I'll make it four stars. Service was outstanding.
