My whole family has a great time with the instructors. My kids improved their confidence and I love the structure of the classes. I have recommended this program to all my family members and friends.

My kid character improved 100% after starting the classes. Instructors will give them free one on one class whenever you feel like they need it.
Great people, great program .

I went to the winners for life in Concord and since they're just a big chain this review applies to all Winners for Life franchises.

They lure you into a contract with deceitful recruiting practices - they don't mention one word about the $400 worth of equipment you're expected to purchase. If you don't purchase the equipment your kid will likely be punched in the face by a much bigger kid since they aren't under enough supervision while sparring. Not to mention she learned nothing in the month and a half we sent her.

My daughter is 6. We're letting her try out different things too see what she likes. When she told us she doesn't want to go back and would rather go home after school and play with her little brother instead of going to there and getting hit in the face we politely went to them and requested that our contract be terminated. They refuse to even consider just letting us go on our way. They are trying to force us to pay 147/month even though she doesn't want to go back?! A common sense approach from a business with any shred of decency would say "We understand" we'll let you out of the contract since you don't come and your membership is costing us nothing." But that's why I think they're total scammers. They won't do that. And their belt system is a scam too in my opinion as well as many others who have posted reviews. They don't complete with other schools or let other schools complete against them which can only lead one to assume that it's due to their sub-par, watered-down version of martial arts. I would give anything now to have gone anywhere else. Do not sign a contract with this large chain unless you're ready to pay an additional $400 just for equipment (not to mention all the other fees that aren't included in the monthly membership) be held to it come Hell or high water whether or not you're 5 year old simply decides it's not for her.

STAY AWAY FROM ATA!!! My son attended classes and we were very disappointed. Each class was the same and he learned nothing. The belt system is a joke... if you pay the money you get a new belt. They agreed to let us out of our contract and then sent us to collections 2 years later. Very unprofessional. They prey on new people who just don't know any better. There is a reason you see them set up around town offering free class... they have to replace all the dissatisfied people leaving. RUN AWAY FROM ATA!

I have been at the Huntersville location for with my two boys (6.10) for almost a year now. What started as a discounted month of lessons turned into a love for something other than video games. Some classes are more crowded than others but never to the point that I or more importantly my children were uncomfortable. Staff is very friendly and always available for face to face conversations (I prefer face to face)

Love it!

Our family just joined the Huntersville location 2 weeks ago and so far we have had a very pleasant experience. The process started with and interview with the kids (ages 9 and 15) to see if they would like it. They enjoyed the free private lesson. The instructor shared the schedule, hours of operations and their expectations. He was VERY CLEAR in saying that it would take time and he CLEARLY asked if we wanted to make the commitment. NO ONE FORCED ME TO SIGN ANYTHING!!! We signed a contract because we were clear about the commitment were making to the school in order to achieve our goals. Even after signing the contract I had some additional questions and I haven't had to make an appointment. Tje staff is very helpful and friendly. We are here to stay!

Do not join this ATA Karate. This is the most unprofessional group of people that I have ever seen. They made us sign a contract and even though the service and classes are terrible the owner refuses to call customers back because they already have your money.

If anyone is considering joining ATA Karate please DO NOT!!!! First of all they force you to sign a contract ranging from one year to three years. My daughter really wanted to join and they talk a good talk however once you begin the classes they are absolutely terrible. The classes are extremely over crowded and if you think your child will get any small group or individual training you are mistaken. They place a new student with black belts. During the first week they had a black belt spar with a white belt and the black belt pinned my daughter against the mirrors and the instructor did not even notice. The parents had to bring it to her attention. The owner refuses to call parents back to discuss concerns. Once they have their money they do not care. Never join. Find another place.
