Jonathan Fairchild has been my piano teacher for fourteen years and during this time period he has helped me progress from a little eight year old with absolutely no knowledge of music theory or how to play the piano to a young adult who now possesses a firm and exceptional knowledge and understanding of both. While due to the strains of challenges of my pharmacy school studies I have not had a lesson in over a year, Mr. Fairchild has trained me extremely well over the years so it would be relatively easy to shake out the dust and resume at the same level I left off. I look forward to the day when I can resume lessons with him. Over the years as my musical interests changed, Mr. Fairchild realized this and introduced me to new types of music thus expanding my repertoire. His introduction of me to ragtime, especially Scott Joplin’s “Maple Leaf Rag,” widened my musical tastes and firmly cemented my interest and firm enjoyment in playing this type of music on the piano. This introduction to ragtime helped me greatly with understanding its successor, jazz, and is most definitely a reason why I played in my university’s jazz ensemble for three years and enjoy jazz to this day. Mr. Fairchild would help me with music theory when it came time to write solos for my jazz ensemble performances and in general is extremely helpful and patient with me as a student. I have enjoyed taking piano lessons with him during the past fourteen years and definitely recommend him to all those, both young and old, who wish to learn how to play this wonderful instrument. Whether we were playing Spanish Classical music such as Enrique Granados or Baroque music I thoroughly enjoy having Mr. Fairchild as a piano teacher as music has been such an important part of my upbringing.

Jonathan Fairchild has been teaching our 11-year-old for the past six months and in that time, my child progressed beyond anyone's expectations and thoroughly enjoys playing the piano. Mr. Fairchild truly gets across the love of music during the lessons without making the student feel pressured -- this translates into a genuine enjoyment in learning and playing the instrument. It is so convenient that he travels to give lessons right in our home! We all enjoy his duet portion of the lesson! He is always dependable but will be flexible with time if need be. I cannot say enough good things about him as our piano teacher and am so grateful we found him!

Our family has known Jonathan Fairchild for the past 8 years. Over the course of that time, he has taught our three children piano lessons. His emphasis with each child has been different based on their musical talents and interests, from classical to jazz to modern. He has tailored their lessons to both their learning style as well as musical interests. His talent as a piano player is remarkable and has truly been a blessing. His traveling to our home has provided a great convenience as well his consistency and dedication to coming every week. We will absolutely recommend him to any family seeking piano lessons for their child. It is truly rewarding to be able to see our children, one of which is now out of college, be able to sit down and play or work at any song that he desires.
