I am writing this review because, sadly, my experience with Dr. Miller was very bad. In October of 2011, he performed some gum-line fillings on the upper and lower right side, leaving my very small mouth open for one, solid hour. He numbed me in three spots on the lower jaw, and by the time he did the third one, I was near tears. He does not have a good touch at all. My original dentist, whom I have gone back to, has a wonderful touch and I have never felt more than a pinch. It seems to me that, by leaving my small mouth open uninterrupted for such a long period, my right jaw joint was traumatized. Overnight, I went from being able to open wide, yawn, kiss my husband and eat anything I wanted to living on yogurt and oatmeal. When I called the office for help, Gail agreed that my small mouth was left open for too long with no support and told me “we should have used a bite block on you, I’ll note your chart for the future.” She then explained what a bite block was, told me to take some Advil and call on Thurs if I was not better. I was not, so I called. Dr. Miller’s immediate, defensive response was “I didn’t do that to you, it’s just a coincidence!” WHAT? I was fine until he worked on me! He told me to take 1800 mg of Advil for 2 weeks, “talk all you want and eat a soft diet.” None of that helped, and we won’t even discuss what that much Advil can do to one’s GI tract and liver. I only switched to Dr. Miller because Kim, a hygienist in both his and my original dentist’s office, told me that Dr. Miller would take my dental insurance and that he would provide the same excellent level of care I had been receiving. Not only was she my long-time hygienist, she was one of my closest and dearest friends, so I trusted her.

I am now back with my original dentist, I don’t care about not being able to use the full insurance benefit. Unfortunately, I now must see a TMJ specialist, another non-insurance covered expense. I am still on a soft diet and may need an MRI to see if there is anything going on with my joint other than inflammation.

I am writing this because I do not want anyone else to go through what I have been going through. And Dr. Miller’s uncaring, defensive response was very, very disheartening.
