Provided by YPmobileStay away! We almost had to amputate our puppys leg due to dr. Lancer's carelessness. Unfortunately we were unable to pursue litigation against him since New York State is a no fault state and doesnt provide protection for pets. They will most likely respond to this review and recount how his insurance company found him to be not liable; however that was simply because no other vet would back us up and in turn destroy another vets career. She was a 15 week old puppy without any other exposure and developed a severe infection in the same leg he vaccinated her in. It's not a coincidence.
We brought our puppy to dr lancer and verbally discussed spacing out her vaccines. At 15 weeks Lancer gave her 6 vaccines at once. Shortly thereafter, she developed severe swelling her in leg (the same that she was vaccinated in) and was running a high fever. She was put on antibiotics and a few weeks after that developed boils and her leg fractured. After spending weeks in the hospital on intravenous antibiotics, we were almost faced with amputation. Our young 20 week old puppy almost lost her leg due to his carelessness. Eventually she was given the right antibiotic and her leg was saved from amputation. I still don't consider myself antivaccine but I think it's super important to find a vet you trust and who doesn't have a superiority complex. We spent well over $13k treating her and to this day, her tibia was stunted 6 cm due to his carelessness and arrogance. Two years later, we are still ticked off and live with this every day.

Provided by YP.comOur beagle, Patty boy, had severe back pain on Saturday. We rushed him to the place where we adopted him, North Shore Animal League. The doctor we saw there was very cold and had no compassion at all. We had exrays and blood work done but were not comfortable at all. My husband and I decided we did not like the care there and wanted to have a second opinion. I asked a friend who has several dogs where she brings her pets, she recommended West Hills Animal Hospital. On Sunday, I called and spoke to Lisa at the front desk. Lisa was friendly, caring and assured me that the Vet Patty boy would be seeing was a terrific doctor even though it was not the one my friend recommended. When we arrived we were pleasantly greeted at the front desk. The vets assistant came out to take us in, I can't believe I cannot remember her name, I liked her so much, she was terrific. She was kind, gentle, compassionate and loved Patty boy immediately. We knew we were in good hands. When Dr. Sikalas walked in, again I knew this was the right place to be. I cannot say enough nice things about this woman, She was smart, kind, compassionate, explained herself clearly...the best. When she examined my pet and hit a spot that made he scream, I started to cry. Dr. Sikalas looked at me with tears in her eyes and said I wish I could hug you. I was so touched by her compassion. We received incredible care, the place was immaculate, the prices were very reasonable, there is no need to ever go any where else. If you love your pet and want to make sure you and him are treated properly, this is the place for you.

Provided by YPmobileI have been a client at West Hills Animal Hospital and Emergency Center for over 20 years. My pets have always received excellent care and I have a great appreciation for the experience, knowledge and care that the Veterinarians and staff put into their work every day. The hospital is staffed 24 hours a day, which means there are Veterinarians and Technicians on site at all times, and you can come in any time with an emergency. This became very meaningful to me most recently when my 11 month old puppy, Fin, chewed up his towel and ingested the pieces. He became obstructed and very sick. Fin ended up needing surgery and spent several days in the hospital. The staff were kind and caring, available for questions, and most importantly, took excellent care of my pup. I am relieved to say that Fin has made a full recovery, thanks to West Hills. I will continue to be a loyal client and my pets will continue to be loyal patients. West Hills Animal Hospital and Emergency Center is where you go for the best animal care.

Provided by YP.comI got a puppy from a local store and went here for the first time the other day. I absolutely LOVE it! The whole experience for myself, my kids and my puppy were awesome The receptionist up front were so welcoming, came out from behind the desk to say hi to my 2 daughters and puppy, gave my one daughter Kelly a treat to give to my puppy Bailey. They gave us a bag full of goodies to welcome us. We ten met with Dr. Dominguez who was a sweetheart, gave kisses to the puppies and talked to my daughters and showed them what she was doing step by step to Bailey.
I would highly recommend coming here, will continue to use them, and there open 24 hours!!!

Provided by YP.comBeen coming here for years with my dogs Max and Bentley, and cannot say enough amazing things about this vet! I've seen both Dr. Alan and Dr. Jared Coren and like father like son, amazing vets, so sweet and down to earth and tell it how it is. My dogs are my children so I love how honest and reasonable they are. Thank you all for being so amazing and see you soon!

Provided by YP.comMy 4 year old dog, Oreo, was up vomiting all night. I took him to West Hills Animal Hospital to see Dr. Jared. He took the time to talk me through the exam and was very compassionate when dealing with Oreo. He told me what I needed to do to get Oreo better and it worked. The staff was wonderful and it was overall great experience!

Provided by YP.comWe decided to used West Hill Animal Hospital after getting our Lab puppies in July. They are VERY over-priced but they were local and convenient. We decided to leave West Hills Animal Hospital for good because I now see them for what they are - money hungry people that care nothing about the well being of the pet but want to run up the bill with unnecessary tests.
We brought my grandmothers 13 year old min pin in with an abscess that became inflamed that she then managed to scratch open (and was an open gaping wound) - she needed it stitched up. We left her there with the understanding that she would have the operation that night and we could pick her up in the morning. Oh and by the way - we had to leave a deposit.... the entire amount $1330 - not really sure how the entire amount is a deposit. The doctor called to say her liver enzymes were high and they wanted to do an ultrasound for $375 , we declined the ultrasound and asked them to fix her wound. They said that they would - but then lied because they didn't operate that night. They kept her there the entire night with out doing anything except running up the bill and giving her iv fluids ( Guess they wanted to keep her extra nights to make the bill even higher because we didn't get the ultrasound done). Needless to say we pulled her from West Hills the next morning and brought her to another Vet that agreed that the ultrasound was unnecessary (because it can only really show a mass) - oh and all of that cost me $744 at West Hills. At the new vet they did the operation successfully for almost half of what West Hills was charging - too bad I already spend $744 to West Hills on top of what I had to pay the new vet (and they asked for an actual deposit - half) and sent the poor old girl on her way home where she is comfortable and happy to be. But I'm sure that they are just happy that they got as much money as they could. I am so sorry that we went to West Hills and put her through that.
They will never get another dime of my money and never see any of my animals again.

Provided by YP.comThis is by far the best animal hospital around. All of the staff are great. The care is top notch. They are open all the time (literally!). I have been bringing my pets there for years and they just get better and better. I can't speak more highly about this vet.

Provided by YP.comI just left West Hills and was inspired to write a review. Here is why West Hills Animal Hospital is the best hospital on long island.
1) The staff are incredible. Everyone makes you feel warm and comfortable when you walk in. The facility is large, but it has a "small" feel to it where when you walk in everyone knows you.
2) I can come in at anytime, I mean anytime, of the day or night and be seen for the exact same price.
3) If any of my pets have an emergency or needs to be hospitalized, there is a doctor and staff there around the clock. I don't have to go down the road to the specialty hospital and spend twice the amount of money (where I have been in the past and know from experience!). Plus I am with the same hospital who knows me and gives that same caring touch as always. Also, last time my dog was sick and in the hospital I visited as often as I wanted and called multiple times a day to check in and was treated like royalty.
4) The place is not inexpensive but it has the most value out of anywhere. You get what you pay for. I would never leave my dog somewhere with no one there overnight like some people do. West Hills has the best of all worlds because they can do everything under one roof rather than needing to send me anywhere else. Plus they are the best at what they do!!
Thank you from all of us (Buddy, Frankie, Kitty and Mo).

Provided by YP.comWonderful staff and Emergency Hospital! I desperately needed an emergency veterinarian at 10pm on a Saturday night when my cat couldn't pee. The staff was so warming and comforting while I was so worried about my baby. He ended up having to spend a few nights in the hospital to get him to go to the bathroom alright again but now he is back to himself. The doctors and staff kept me updated daily and I never felt lost. Even though i wasn't a previous client they treated me like anyone else. I also didn't feel like I was in an emergency setting with the hospital which I really liked. I will no longer go anywhere else. Thank you West Hills.
