Huntington Wastewater Treatment Plant serves the city of Huntington in West Virginia. It spreads over an area of more than five acres. The plant maintains sludge dewatering and incineration facilities. With a capacity of more than 15 million gallons per day, it uses various rectangular sedimentation basins. The plant s facilities are designed to handle an average daily organic loading of over 28,000 pounds. Its tanks are equipped with sludge and scum collection devices. The plant is designed to remove or reduce the size of organic solids, such as pieces of wood, paper and plastic. Its clients include Spring Valley Public Service District, Monel Park Public Service District, Northern Wayne Public Service District. Huntington Wastewater Treatment Plant is operated by the Huntington Sanitary Board, which has a sewage sludge disposal system.
