Huntsville Area Crime Stoppers is a community program that gets the public, media and the police together in the fight against crime. Based in Huntsville, Ala., the program offers cash rewards to citizens who provide information leading to the arrest/indictment of lawbreaking offenders. It uses community media resources, television, radio and news print to make a report of the crime. Huntsville Area Crime Stoppers perform investigative service, which is undertaken by the law enforcement agencies. A member of Crime Stoppers International, this program is funded by private tax-deductible donations of money, goods or services from the community.
