Founded in 1983 and located in Huntsville, Ala., Virginia College offers associate and baccalaureate degrees, diplomas and career-oriented courses and higher learning opportunities. The college is approved by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools. It offers bachelor degrees in various disciplines, such as business management, cosmetology, accounting, criminal justice, and health services and management that include courses in medical assistant, pharmacy and surgical technology, and medical billing and coding. Additionally, Virginia College offers course in information technology that includes Cisco networking, and certified networking engineering and management comprising knowledge of various software applications, such as Linux+, Security+ and CNA. The college also provides courses in office management, computer-aided drafting and design, graphics designing and animation, and Web design and development. Virginia College has a library that provides curriculum books, literary sources and computer workstations. The college also provides career counseling services and financial aid through scholarships. It has campuses in Birmingham, Ala., Pensacola, Fla., and Jackson, Miss.
