Walter Maddox and I spoke on the phone a couple of times and emailed back and forth. I emailed him a list of work to be done. He was fine with it. He came over and gave us an estimate. He agreed to start work on a given day at a given time. We had even confirmed the date and time in an email with him and he said it was fine. He just didn't show up. No call, no email. Nothing. We never heard from him. We waited all day for him. My husband and I have used a lot of contractors and have had a lot of work done. We have never been treated this way. I would never recommend him to anybody. Don't waste your time on this guy. You can't count on him.

I received this recommendation by a friend. Terrible recommendation. He repaired a leak, but in doing so caused another leak. He never came to fix it even though I let him know there was a small drip the same day. He set up a time to come 4 times and didn't show each time. He didn't even call to say he would n't make it. Even after I told him the drip had now turned into a steady leak. After he didn't show the 3rd time I was able to catch him on the phone (the prior times he would not pick up or respond to texts). He said he couldn't make it and couldn't call and was not going to discuss it. I asked him so how are we going to get this fixed. He set up another time. He did not show or call this 4th time either. I would never recommend him to anyone I know.

Walter Maddox is an arrogant liar who tries to manage his clients. Maddox never takes any responsibility for his mistakes. The problem was always caused by someone else or malfunctioning equipment or defective products. He attempted to have us buy a part for our furnace that a licensed plumber came in and diagnosed and repaired in 30 minutes without any parts. More troublingly, Classic Designer Finish LLC is not properly licensed with Maryland Home Improvement Commission as a “home improvement” business or, more importantly, hold the $1,000,000 bond required by law. Maddox hires incompetent family members to do shoddy work, and damage your equipment or property and try to blame other trades. The drywall he did in our property and floor he put into the bathroom was deemed substandard at best, poor at worst by two independent contractors. His nephew caused substantial water damage to our property that he refused to clean up. With Classic Designer Finish LLC "let the buyer beware."
