History of LA Fritter In 1930, World War I veteran L.A. Fritter parlayed his petroleum fueling experience in the war and as a Standard Oil Co. representative into a new business operating in Washington, D.C. As Henry Ford cranked more and more cars off his assembly lines, the demand for fuel increased, L.A. Fritter & Son Co opened its doors to the motoring public. Mr. Fritter's business grew strong and steady not only because he met the demand for fuel pumping equipment and service, but also because he instilled in his company the mission of customer commitment. L.A. Fritter & Son provided its customers with the best quality, value and service. Now, 75 years later, L.A. Fritter & Son is still owned by its fourth generation petroleum industry family. Our Headquarters and Showroom are in suburban Maryland, which offers easy access to the hundreds of fueling centers throughout the Metropolitan D.C. area. We continue to provide the same level of quality, value and service as L.A. Fritter did in 1930, and meet our customer's needs by keeping pace with every new advancement in petroleum handling equipment.
