Contacted Brad Hall & associates and informed them that a property they own in my neighborhood was not in compliance with Salt Lake City Zoning ordinances. These deficiencies included but were not limited to: Trash all over the lot, graffiti on several surfaces, failure to shovel walks after snow events in winter, weeds that are knee-high in places, cars illegally using the property as over-flow parking, and so on. I was told that a property maintenance person would be by. Nothing happened, was lied to. Called and asked if the property could simply be mowed. Was told yes. Again, lied to. Only recourse has been to involve Salt Lake City Zoning Enforcement, which costs tax dollars, to force these out of state owners to simply comply with my City's zoning ordinances. It is a shame property owners such as myself take the time to make their yards nice, while out of state owners take no pride or responsibility and allow their properties to turn into slum within Historic Districts. All we asked for was to have the walks shoveled and the grass mowed even once.
