When we started munchkin junction, we saw the post here about Kids who need extra attention, and how MJ was unable to provide that, and we dismissed it, as our kids seemed fine. Since that time, our toddler has been diagnosed with some developmental delays, and has picked up several concerning behaviors (that he only, oddly, displayed at the daycare). Since he began requiring extra attention, we received constant feedback from the owner and workers in which the suggested that we should leave. We decided to stick it out, but we were eventually expelled after our son hit another child in a common area on an understaffed day.

Our older son did well here, and enjoyed his time there. The teacher, who is leaving, was caring and kind, and was glad to give extra attention and feedback. In the end, if you have a 4 to 7 year old of average abilities and behaviors, this is your place. If you have a toddler, or a child who needs extra attention, you should probably go somewhere else.

My kids love it here! They are never ready to leave. The staff is outstanding, and we love the activities that are planned. Kids could never get bored with all the field trips, guest speakers, and fun toys! The owner and staff make sure there is always something new and exciting to look forward to, whether it be a trip to the zoo, pool, or Cox Honey in Shelley. Your kids will love this place! Best in IF!

My children did not do well at this daycare. My daughter told me that she is scared off few of their teachers.

I feel that munchkin junction ...

I feel that munchkin junction was an excellent daycare but when your kids need just a little extra love and attention they maybe asked to leave.

As the owner of Munchkin Junction, I would like to respond to this post. There have been a couple of instances since my business has been open that I have regrettably had to ask parents to find another place for their child. This request has never been made without a lot of time spent by my staff and myself trying to make the situation work. In each instance, I have provided a referral for an alternate care giver; and in each case, the parents have started care with that referral. As painful as it may be for the parents to get news like this, it is equally painful to have to give it. I care deeply about every child who has ever been in our care. I am finding that often doing the right thing for a child causes hurt feelings which cloud the reality that sometimes there is a "better fit" for the child in a different facility.

My grandchildren have been in ...

My grandchildren have been in several day cares and those day cares proved to not be the best places for them. My son and daughter-in-law were so discouraged, then someone told them about Munchkin Junction. They checked it out and enrolled their children. They are very happy with the care their children receive and feel they've finally found a place they completely trust and a place their children love to go to while they work.

If you want a child care cente...

If you want a child care center that feels like "home" and loving care givers, this is the perfect place! My son gets ME up in the morning so he can hurry to Munchkin Junction. Does it get better than that for a working mom? I don't think so!

I am very picky about who I le...

I am very picky about who I leave my children with and where they go. They have been at MJ since August and they love it there. The ladies that work there treat them like their own kids. They rock them, love on them, pay special attention to them, color with them, use positive reinforcement and constructive discipline. My 4-year-old knows how to do beginning math, letter and number recognition, he can count in Spanish, knows the colors in Spanish, has learned many new educational songs....I could go on and on. MJ is a great place to take your kids. They have a room for the smaller children. This is partly for the time the older kids are in preschool and partly so the younger ones can nap while the older ones have quiet time. The kids are not forced to be separated and they get time together. It is a very good system. I looked at MANY daycares before choosing this one and I feel this is the best place for my babies. I have never seen any child able to harm another child where an adult is not close by. Things happen because kids are kids, but the adults always step in. They handle situations professionally and lovingly. I have dropped in unannounced many times, so I know this is how they always are. Whoever wrote the bad review must have gotten confused. We LOVE MJ!!!

The atmosphere of this child care center is relaxed and happy. I would not hesitate to share with anyone looking for daycare about Munchkin Junction. My experience has been nothing but positive, and my child is excited every day to go. I think whoever wrote the negative review was not being truthful. I think it is a well run child oriented business and appreciate the care they give my child. In a nutshell, I am grateful for Munchkin Junction.

My daughter has been at Munchkin Junction since the first of September. The center is especially clean, the staff are friendly and wonderful with the children. I have never seen any instances of bullying or excessive t.v. viewing. My daughter loves it and I wouldn't take her any where else. The owner is caring and loving and so are the ladies who work for her. Her preschool program is amazing. I would urge anyone who needs a daycare to check this facility out!

DO NOT put your children here....

DO NOT put your children here. I went in looking to put my child here, and the older kids were not only in with the younger kids, but one of them picked a 2 year old up and was shaking them by the neck. The chairs in the downstairs portion were facing the TV and the child care worker mentioned that they had been watching movies for a good portion of the day.

I actually have my two children going there and one the younger children our seperated I know because I always drop off my 16 month off to a serperate location with a seperate entrance and also they do preschool with the older children for 2 hours each day and do arts and crafts, yes they will watch a movie or a learning dvd and just because the television is on doesnt mean that the children are doing nothing but sitting down and watching the screen. My four year old is learning how to do math and is doing his alphabet especially when he had fallen behind due to some medical conditions he is catching up rather quickly because of this daycare. They also have great teacher to child ratio which means the kids will all have equal amount of attention and observation so that way no child will bully another child.
