Wide spread power outages in the thumb in January led us to make decisions for a place to stay! We dropped all of our kids with my ex-husband (remain on good terms and he is always sure to include all my kids, even those that aren't his) and we decided that it was way too cold (even with a kerosene heater and my monstrous goose down comforter I pulled out of storage because my husband hates it) so we left the heater on for our pets, and called a few local places. We are a low income family working in public service and this place jumped out at us. The previous review had me worried but the other places were either outside our price range or booked. The price for one night is a whopping $42.00 a night. The room was a little slow to warm up but we did get in late. It was tidy but little specs of paint on the older carpet. Bed comfortable blankets are older sheets clean and decent pillows. Good water pressure but didn't come out like molten lava as I like. Has a mini fridge, microwave, A/C, cable w/ HBO. Does have curtains private entrances with screen doors that could use a little work. I'm not saying its the Hilton or even holiday inn but it serves it's purpose hot shower clean bed and the city has a lot of food choices and if u can't decide there is a Kroger grab something to nuke. If u want to spend the money u saved on a really nice meal you can't go wrong with Lucky's steakhouse (filet with loaded baked potato and asperagrass! YUM, not cheap though)! Some things I suggest is bring your favorite pillow these are average and only two, perhaps a comforter from home (hotel comforters are all gross) and your own toiletries (the tiny sliver of soap here isn't worth stealing). The owners of Indian decent so have a heavy accent but not impossible to understand the room is cheap and clean and has free wi-fi. Would I stay again? Yes, I would. It's not home but since my home doesn't have heat or running water this is better! (plus it's a welcome break from the kids) At $42.00 you can't go wrong. Bathroom is a shower stall not a bath tub :-( but the towels are bright white thick and absorbent. (also have weekly rates)!

This place must be undet new oenership in the last couple years.We drive all the way out here from taylor for hunting & it use to be a fairly decsent motel w/ reasonable rates,friendly owners most of all it was pretty clean.Now.......not so much,infact,NOT AT ALL!!!!!!! The rates have more than doubled,the owner is very rude & quite difficult to understand,& the rooms are DISGUSTING!!!!!!!! Last year we stayed & there were no curtains,only old nasty blankets on windows,shower was dirty & there was somekimd of beatle bugs all over tje room & on the bed.Wr daref to give them another shoy this year & it was even worse.JUST PLAIN NASTY!!!! & HIGHLY OVER PRICED!
