Contrary to it's name the Community Clothes Closet in Independence, KS. is NOT non-profit or for charity at all!!! It is owned and operated by one woman who receives all monies received for selling donated items. Many ppl in the community donate items to this 'business' not knowing that it is in no way for charity. I asked one of her employees about this bc I have needy clients and wanted to make certain that if I donate items to the Community Clothes Closet, it would pay forward. This is not the case so I do not donate items just to make her living more comfortable when there are ppl in the community who can not afford clothing or furniture!!!
