There has always been a small restaurant at the “Corner” in Riverside, Missouri. Enter Ed & Kathi Rule. They had never been in the restaurant business before, but they always felt they knew what good food was all about. It began on May 15, 1983, when they opened a little 40-seat cafe that served breakfast and lunch. The CORNER CAFE was born. Expansions and new buildings have been built, but we continue the traditions that started back in 1983. good people down home atmosphere, I love it, every town should have one, and their pies are amazing, if u don't like it, its cause u don't get it, enjoy

we usually enjoy Corner Cafe's food in Independence...the service was very good but the food was lukewarm at best. There were 4 of us and all had lukewarm food. Very disappointed. Will be awhile before we are back.

Corner Cafe on Blue Pkwy. in Independence,Mo. has the best biscuits and sausage gravy ever. The only other place that is even close to this is Hy-Vees on 40Hwy & 7 Hwy.

Horrible Service

We were excited about trying this this new place. Horrible service!! We complained. The workers sit and talk with other co-worker and friends as you are being waited on!!. It is like a step down from Bob Evans as far as the atmosphere.

very good waitress - She tried very hard to get a misunderstood order corrected - and finally succeeded



Very good food - when we finally got our food it was very good



Extremely poor management - Several folks left rather than wait in a somewhat disorganized atmosphere - The parking lot was not even full. If there was management available it was not at all obvious as none even apeared to even attempt to help our waitress nor acknowledge us.



Observation: Good food and servers will keep the business for a while but management apathy will kill it.
