If this is the same Elmer I grew up with it is not surprising that he is the best at what he does. His father was also. I now live in Bellingham Washington right on the north west corner of the country and would drive to Indy to get a hair cut if I had enough hair. Perhaps a shave sometime.
We were once best friends and I miss him greatly. Time and war distanced us. Many wonderful times as kids.

I have been in and out of Irvington my entire life and there isn't a better haircut & shave anywhere! Linda, Cathy & of course, Elmer are the best at what they do! Old school barbering at its finest! ����

I have been going to Elmer since I was 6 years old. I am 48 now. Stepping g into the shop brings back a flood of pleasant memories. I went back today and got my traditional haircut that I get every time I come back to Indianapolis and today included a straight razor shave (truly an awesome experience if you've never had one.) I love this place and the value for dollar is incredible. Thanks Elmer for being a master at your craft.

I recently moved to the Irvington neighborhood on the east side of Indianapolis. It is important to me to support local business whenever possible, so when I was in need of a haircut, I started looking around the area for my next barber.



There are a number of places in and around Irvington one could get a haircut, but none of the places seemed all that appealing to me. I finally decided to give Elmer a try at his barber shop in the Irvington Plaza.



It was awesome. Granted, Elmer's does not have the panache of places like 4:59 Barber Lounge, Red's or True Barber's, but Elmer's is high on value. For 11 bucks, I was treated to an old-school barbershop experience in a clean and well-kept shop. I found Elmer to be personable, interesting and respectful.

Elmer gave me a great cut doing exactly as I requested.



I highly recommend Elmer and his barber shop to nearly anyone. You won't be treated to a cold beer or experience high-end interior design, but you will get a quality haircut that is par with cuts that I have paid three times as much as Elmer's modest $11 charge.
