The Indianapolis Foundation is one of the oldest and largest community foundations in Indiana. Established in 1916, the foundation works to ensure the improvement of the quality of life of the residents of that Marion County in Indiana. It is an affiliate of the Central Indiana Community Foundation, also known as CICF, which was established in 1997 as a partnership between The Indianapolis Foundation and Legacy Fund. The Central Indiana Community Foundation is a steward for more than $480 million in charitable assets. The foundation works to consult donors, family foundations, and their professional advisors on charitable giving, as well as award grants to nonprofit organizations.
