Managed Health Services Indiana is a for-profit managed care organization that serves Indiana s Hoosier Healthwise population and children in the Children s Health Insurance Program. The company was formed in 1994 as a partnership to manage the health care of Hoosier Healthwise enrollees in Indiana s northern region. In 2000, MHS was awarded a statewide contract and now serves more than 185,000 members of the Hoosier Healthwise program. The company has office locations in Indianapolis, Merrillville, Mishawaka, Muncie and Fort Wayne, Ind. Managed Health Services Indiana is a subsidiary of Centene Corporation, a government services managed care organization that also has Medicaid health maintenance organizations in New Jersey, Ohio, Texas, Wisconsin, Missouri and Georgia.
