I am new to Western Michigan, and I stopped here to get a quote on a thermostat for my 2004 6cy Envoy. (The part is $23 on line all over the place). There are over 2.5 million of these made over the 6 years it was built. The quote called for 1.1 hours of labor...realistically a 45 minute job. After accepting their $125 quote I made the first appointment, @ 8am 6 days later. I had asked if they could have the part in stock...so that I did not have to wait for a part to be delivered. I also offered to bring my own part...but they said it was not needed, that they would handle it. I showed up at 750 for my appointment, as scheduled. They did not have the part as PROMISED. I WAITED ALMOST 3 HOURS to get a 1 hour job completed. This is not the issue, was annoyed to say the least...When it came time to pay the bill...She asked me to pay $176....40% higher than the quote. They did not ask if it was ok...they just did it. I asked if they were good at fixing blown gaskets...cause I was about to blow one. Gary the owner then came and explained that they did not order the part because they thought that I was not going to show up...even though I made it a point to explain my situation, and my time constraints, and the fact that I only have 1 vehicle. After Gary explained to me that my word and reputation was not worth a $23 part...I knew I had made a bad mistake. Gary asked me what I wanted, and I said that I really have no control over that...as he was walking away annoyed(not sure why, maybe it was because I told him that I was a GM at 1 time for a large dealership in MKE, and understood his business, then I asked him how he would feel if this would happen to him as a consumer...no response) ...he told the girl to charge me cost for the part. I'm not sure whose cost they charged me...but it was still way high. Gary has some work to do on his people skills. I guess these guys have been too successful not to be able to stand behind their quote...instead they "Jack" people around. Beware of this place, if you don't not know how t0 service your auto!
