Provided by YPmobileI had a terrible experience with this company today. First of all without telling me I found out that in addition to the $50 out of town fee they assess, they also charge you at an hourly rate for the time it takes them to drive to your home. They tore my furnace apart and claimed that they didn't carry a standard part which resulted in them needing to have someone deliver an additional part that didn't end up working in my furnace anyways. After claiming that this part wouldn't be in until the next day they left my furnace in pieces in the furnace room. An hour after the tech left they called back to say that they misquoted me and the part I really needed would be $500, $150 more than the previous quote. I ended up calling Davis Heating and Cooling and they came out to my house after hours (note: their after hours hourly rate is $105, a whopping $5 more than Kelly's normal rate). They had my unit fixed in under a half hour and charged me only $300 for the job Kelly said would cost $800. My advice....avoid this company at all cost and go with a company that isn't looking to take advantage of its customers.

Provided by YP.comLetter I wrote to Kelly Heating.
Dear Sir:
I would like to take a moment to detail a very recent service call that I had with Kelly Heating and Hawkeye Refrigeration. Let me setup my letter by saying that my wife and I purchased our home in 2007 a few months after I returned from a 16 month deployment to Al-Asad, Iraq. The home was built in 1986 and still has the original furnace. As the weather was getting colder, I noticed that the pilot light would not ignite on this G12 Lennox furnace. I called the company that originally installed this furnace. Kelly heating came over on Friday October 17, 2008 at approx 1100am. The service man’s name was Tom. He went to looking at the furnace and immediately told me how old the furnace was and how inefficient the furnace was. He told me that my family would be more safe with a newer furnace that did not require a pilot light. I knew from research (on the internet and from a friend in my hometown that owns a Lennox dealership) that the Thermo-coupler was most likely the problem. I watched as the service man took the furnace apart and correctly diagnosed the problem. I then figured that he had the problem solved and I did a few chores around the house. I went back down after 45 minutes and Tom was still telling me that I should look into getting a new furnace. He said the G12 was only 60% efficient but once again, I knew he was not accurate as I knew it to be 80% efficient. Tom then said it was already to go and tried to start the furnace. He said that he was not getting any gas through the pilot light. He thought the gas was off so he went outside to check the gas line supply valve. He could not get the pilot light to work and then said that I would need a new Gas Valve ($250.00) but that it was such an old valve that he would have to try and get one. He then got Linda from Kelly into the dealing by calling her on his cell phone/walkie talkie. She confirmed that this was an old heater and that the gas valve that was needed would not be in inventory. She said the order could take 4-6 weeks and that it would be cold by then. Tom then went on a series of odd apologies and said he wished he could get that part. He also said that “I know you do not want to hear that your heater is broken.” But I have shown you that you need a new furnace. He said that a new one was my only safe bet. He said that the gas valve was most likely out of production and that Kelly could never get one. As if all of this pressure tactic for me to buy a new heater wasn’t funny enough, Tom went out to his truck and got a price list and quotes for new furnaces. I played along and told him that I was interested and would go to the store and get approved for financing. He once again called Linda and we went over prices and financing for the new Furnace. I kept playing along but I finally had to go back to my work place as I was already wasting an hour of vacation. I agreed to go over to the Kelly Heating office at 430pm to buy a new furnace and Tom and Linda agreed to waive my $110.00 service fee. Email me for rest of review

To date Kelly Heating has never answered as to why they tried to SCAM me. I will never do business with this company again. Recommend that no one does.
