Irondale Community School is an Alabama Reading Initiative school. The school serves students in grades three through five. It operates a library and media center that offers various resources and accelerated reader programs. Additionally, the school offers gifted and talented education, reading recovery, bilingual education, regional day school and summer enrichment programs. Irondale Community School has a parent-teacher association that organizes various fundraising activities that include assembly programs, scholastic book fairs and school spirit nights. The school s academic curriculum includes special education, reading, art, math, science, social studies and physical education. Located in Irondale, Ala., Irondale Community School is a part of the Jefferson County Board of Education.
