Provided by YP.comI have also had battery/power issues. I had my inital power cord stop charging while my laptop was under warranty. I bought a replacement which only worked temporarily, before I had the same issue. Gateway's chat tech support had me go through a series of tests and deemed it was my battery. They sent me a replacement battery, which "seemed" to fix the problem. Now 4 months later, the same thing has occurred. This time the power cord light was not coming on, so I assumed it was the power cord bad. Again I bought another replacement (from Gateway's recommended vendors) as I did last time. Plugged the laptop in and still nothing. Took the laptop to BEST Buy and used their power cord. Still nothing. They said it was internal. I tried to call Gateway, but since my computer is now 1 1/2 months out of warranty, I can't even speak to someone without paying $50.00 for 30 min. All I can do is email and chat with someone, which is getting me nowhere. They are refusing to fix or even address the problem without me paying $199.00 for service even though the problem originated during the warranty period. They will not give me a phone number to speak to someone personally. Some customer service!!!!! They are too good to actually talk to someone. They also told me they have had no other isuues like this, but as you can see by the other review, they have. DO NOT EVER BUY A GATEWAY. IT WOULD BE BETTER TO DO WITHOUT A COMPUTER, BECAUSE THAT IS WHERE YOU'LL END UP, ONLY WITH $1000.00 LESS IN YOUR POCKET!!!! I only rated a 1 star because I had too. In my book they don't even deserve that.

Provided by YP.comI purchased my laptop july 1st and no more than a month later, the power cable does not feel like charging my computer. its now august 26th and im still wait to turn in my laptop for the 1st time in almost a month. serously DO NOT EVER LET THE THOUGHT OF BUYING A GATEWAY ANYHTING CROSS YOUR MIND!! the customer service is then worst.... it doesnt live up to the excellent service one gets at wal-mart

Provided by YP.comI bought a laptop from them for work. The "N" key has fallen off only 6 months after purchasing it and they said the only way to get it fixed is to send it for repair 10 business days! I cannot be off work for 2 weeks while they stick a new "N" key back on. Gateway used to be so good, now they are complete JUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do not expect any good from Gateway.

Provided by YP.comIf you think the product is bad, just try getting it repaired. I've sent my computer to repair twice and the problem continues. But to get it fixed, I've called and waited 3 hours for 2 days and still haven't gotten through to Level 2. One superviosr told me this is industry standard. Duh, I think he means Gateway standard.

Provided by YP.comI used to work here and the company got worse and worse. It was bad enough when Gateway bought E-machines, than it got REALLY bad when Acer bought Gateway. They broke and re-boxed many laptops. Dude, you gotta get a Dell!
