In 1946, a young pharmacist named Dr. Hong-yen Hsu established the Sun Ten Pharmaceutical Company in Taiwan. The company was a research facility devoted to the study of Chinese medicine. Sun Ten broke new ground in operating standards earning the first Good Manufacturing Practice recognition award ever awarded to a Chinese herbal medicine manufacturer. Dr. Hsu's two sons established a Sun Ten Laboratories the United States in 1991. It was at this facility where Dr. Hsu, his sons and associates began marrying traditional botanical and herbal solutions with technologies and production methods. The company s product line includes herbal extracts, vitamins and powers in a variety of categories, such as traditional Chinese medicine, vitamin and minerals, joint and ligament, sports nutrition, diet formulas, energy formulas, men and women's formulas, immune formulas, specialty formulas, blood sugar formulas, anti-oxidants, cholesterol and meal replacement, probiotics and stress formulas. Sun Ten Laboratories is headquartered in Irvine, Calif.
