Provided by YP.comWe have many choices for dry cleaning services (almost one at every shopping center), and since I moved to the Woodbury area, I decided to try my local cleaners, rather than driving to the cleaners I've been going to for a couple years in Mission Viejo. The first couple visits were simple dry cleaning services but my last visit was to have a dress hemmed. I was quoted a price of $24 (which was cheaper than another quote I had received elsewhere so I said yes) but was charged $38 when I went to pick it up. I finally got a hold of the lady via phone a week later who had measured/pinned my dress to be hemmed and who had quoted me the original price. She then explained to me that they have someone else do the tailoring (which I did not know as she made it seem like she would be doing the hemming since she kept apologizing for taking awhile to pin the dress up since 'she likes things to be perfect' so i assumed she would be doing the work), *starting* price is $25, and the lady who hemmed the dress charged them $38, and she was waiting for a call from the lady to see if she'll go down to $30. This was all new to me - I was NOT aware that the price could go up - and would have certainly appreciated a call to let me know it would cost more than what was quoted before they did the work. Rather than trying to appease the situation, the rep then proceeded to argue with me and tell me that 'she can't really remember the situation since she's usually busy with customers going in and out' for which I then responded that I remember exactly what transpired and what was said when I came in. I distinctly remember I was the only one in there when I arrived (i was there on my lunch break) and one customer did come in during my visit while i was in the dressing room changing after she had pinned my dress, and i even had to wait a few minutes while she was in the back on the phone until she realized i was waiting for her to take my dress and give me a pickup ticket for which she apologized profusely for making me wait since she forgot she had to take my dress and give me a pickup ticket.
I am truly disappointed as I value trust and customer service and I always honor my quoted prices in all of my personal business dealings. I feel that the rep/cleaners would not take responsibility for their error and would not honor the fact that the customer is right this time. The rep asked if i would be happy if she gave me an $8 credit (to bring the cost down to $30) and I explained that it is the principle not the store credit. The rep continued to argue with me at which time I just decided to stop arguing, let her know not to worry about it, let her know I would simply not return, and i ended the conversation by hanging up. This is not worth my time considering I can't 'return' the hemming and have many other choices for dry cleaning and tailoring services. I plan to return to the dry cleaners I had been going to previously. It is out of my way but I know the value their customers and honor their quotes.
