The Maxon Company is a full-service third-party administrator for medical and pension plans sponsored by public, private and Taft-Hartley organizations. Stanley Rubenzahl founded the company in 1955 when, during his tenure as a welfare plan administrator, he identified a need for independent third-party administration services by Union Welfare Plans. In 1974, Rubenzahl established one of the first dental health maintenance organizations in the United States for a consortium of several St. Louis unions and businesses. Services provided by the company include large group consulting and product placement, small group products and medical plan administration. Maxon also provides consulting and brokerage services to companies insuring their medical and related benefits. It provides advice on plan design, negotiates rates and reviews ongoing administration. Maxon administers plans covering employees who reside in all 50 states. The company contracts with national, regional and local provider networks and pharmacy benefit managers. The Maxon Company is located in Irvington, N.Y.
